THIS "FORUM"--- if you want to call it that--- IS RIGGED!!!
There is "NO WAY" that the "TRUTH" about this mystery will be allowed to be seen. Everyone gets upset when George Bush or some other politician changes information so as to appease their own agenda. But here on this 'allegedly' "open forum"....
Any information posted here that clearly shows, that the... Beale/B L a key--- Treasure story.... in itself, is "A SHAM" and one of the biggest 'lies' ever perpetrated... suddenly disappears!!!
ROCKHOUND! "SHAME ON YOU!!!" for allowing this to happen!!! Your name might be on this site... but someone else with their own agenda, is 'RUINING IT!!!'
I have often looked at the left side of the page, under your name, where you say: You're not interested in the treasure and all you want is 'ANSWERS!' So let me clue you... you won't get either as long as things are controlled as they are.
IF... you're interested in learning what I'm speaking of, and can assure me that what I reply with, won't suddenly DISAPPEAR... contact me. No sense spending a lot of time explaining things to everyone... only to have "someone" re-move it because it goes against their agenda and doesn't give a dam about FREE SPEECH!!!

elwoodchaney,
What post are you referring to elwood? I have not deleted any of your post? All though you do have this post in the wrong location. It should be posted under "Suggestions" It has nothing to do with this thread "WHO WAS ROBERT MORRISS"
Since, I don't know what post you are referring to, maybe rockhound does? Or maybe you posted it under a different thread as your latest post is?
If you will start a new thread, I will be glad to debate you on the veracity of the Beale Treasure. I know for a fact it is a true story, no matter how many untruths can be found in the "Job Print Pamphlet"
I have talked to individuals in the surrounding areas of Bufford's and several I have talked to have stories of their ancestors and others that they knew that were members of the Beale Party. One survived. That is all I am going to say on this thread.

WHO... said it was my posting???
What I was referring to was: Rebel KGC Re: Lynchburg, Virginia <Reply #20 on Nov. 12, 2007, 10:34am>
posting: Well, the Langhorne-Guggenheimer House is in the DIAMOND Hill Historic District of Lynchburg, Va. Address is 313 Washington St. Done in 1852 by MAURICE Langhorne, Jr; "restored" by Max Guggenheimer, Jr in 1909. Here is what I THINK happened... IF, Robert Morriss is a "cover" for MAURICE Langhorne (pronounce MAURICE/MORRISS... is there a similar "drawn-out" sound?) IF Guggenheimer bought his house from Robert Morriss(Beale Pamphlet) but in reality MAURICE Langhorne, Jr.; That house is on WASHINGTON Street; Beale Pamphlet has WASHINGTON HOTEL, a "cover" for Western Hotel??? IF, all that is true..... (end of posting)
SO!!! where did this posting go??? Rather interesting... don't you think? Sort of reminds me when I said that: T.J. Beale was the "cover" for Confederate General--- TURNER ASHBY.
Rebel KGC Re: Lynchburg, Virginia... <Reply #19 on Nov 12, 2007, 9:12 am>
posting: Yep, it looks like the WESTERN HOTEL, formerly known as Nichols Tavern/Inn, at the Western edge of Lynchburg, Va. (and the 'end' of Old Forest Road), is our "model" for Washington Hotel; I "posted" the thing about Arlington House as the 'original site' of the Washington Hotel, because THAT is what the BEALE Pamphlet said. NOW, it looks like a Langhorne guy 'was' the "model" for Robert Morriss. Max Guggenheimer (CSA vet) bought his home from Langhorne. The 'Langhorne-Guggenheimer' house is BEAUTIFUL!!! Will 'post' web-site on it later... (end of posting)
SUSPICIOUS!!! wouldn't you say! 3 relativly new postings... within 3-4 spaces of being at the top of the list for new messages... all suddenly disappear. Why? Because they put the authenticity of the Beale Treasure story... deeply in question. addendum: Rebel... you were 'so close!' But as you know... close only counts in 'Horse-shoes!' IF you had only seen the name: Maurice Langhorne "Van Lear"
Now 'ya-all' can go back to enjoying your "Pop-Corn!!!"

Are you related to this Robert Morriss if so please email me at barry@genealogists.com Thank you Yo! ;D That's good David, that you have the stuff... look forward to seeing beale's "post" on it. Let's look at the "job print"... I thought it said that Robert Morriss LEASED the Washington Inn/Hotel at the "time of interest", working as Manager there; maybe taking ownership of it in 1825. "Aunt" Sarah Morriss DID die as you stated, at the home of J. Beverly Ward, and it was WARD, who was interviewd by the Hart Bros. later. beale, I can ONLY speculate that Morriss' "wealth" came from his family in northern Virginia; STILL need to do research into that at Jones Memorial Library, where EVERYONE goes to do their own historical/geneological research...
