The going rate to metal detect those civil war campsites in Virginia is $200 for the weekend! If any land owners want to make some extra cash! Most of the hunts are organized with 100 to 200 hunters, thats more than the crops pay i'm sure!

Anybody have any news about the Treasure Coast? I hear thru the "grapevine" that they are dredging the River and putting the sand on the beach about a mile south of the Inlet right now! Some of the sand is black and that means it came from the bottom where all the coins hide! The other lighter colored sand has a lot of cans and junk. This would be a good place to detect, that is in the areas where the black sand is. All the other areas have new sand and aren't producing! I'm sorry the Sebastian River and Inlet is what i'm referring to.

Found a big piece of one of John Hunt Morgan's 12 lb. cannon balls today. Too bad it exploded, one intact or a "Dud" would be a great find!

White's has come out with a Spectra V3 that has wireless headphones! Thats a great improvement! Wonder how good this machine works? I know Virginia and Kentucky has some of the hottest soil you can find and is really hard to get very much depth. Wow this machine retails for $1,699.95, kinda pricey but a dealer would knock off a few hundred i'm sure. I have the DFX 300 with a 12 inch coil, no complaints with it!
