Does anyone out there do any gold panning in North Carolina streams or South Carolina, I might even be interested in Georgia. I found a small story about there being $14 Billion dollars in white gold in the sands of Southeastern Alabama. I put this story as my 14th story in my CD book called, "Treasure Tales" at www.hunteroflosttreasures.com

I did some panning and slucing down at Dahlonega Ga. once. Most of the gold is deep there the best i could tell. But you guys are in luck! Reports of finding gold are coming in from Buckingham County Va. in a stream called Dillwyn. Guess you all know where thats at?

;D HA! I used to WORK in Dillwyn... at the BIG Buckingham Correctional Center (Prison...); went down GOLD MINE ROAD, every day to get a chilli-dog & soda, at that outside "freeze" (Diary Queen or something...). I can SORTA remember the "crick" outside of town...

One thing that really "freaked me out", was the ground is covered with Mica around Dahlonega! Looks like gold everywhere!

Gonna try my luck around Brownstown Indiana next year for the Glacier stuff. Alot closer, seems all the best sites are all far away. I have to drive 60 miles to detect a beach swimming area!

Glacier stuff? Do you mean diamonds? There is a lot of that around here. I remember a man found a diamond while pitching horseshoes in WVA I think 34 carat. WOW
I use to watch his TV commercials he owned a chain of diamond stores. He always said, "I will stand on my head to please you." And he did, an old man, would get in chair and stand on his head or either on the floor. I think that diamond was called the "Punch Diamond" or something like that.
This place where I know diamonds has been found, a man told me of a pound coffee can full of gold nuggets. He had my attention, he was an old man. We arranged to meet several times and he was going to take me to where these gold nuggets and diamonds were found but unexpectantly he passed away. But, he told me that this old woman that lived down the mountain from him had chickens and her chickens were getting choked to death on corn. The corn turned out to be gold nuggets and that is a true story. It was somewhere on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Let me rephrase that it was about 1 mile before you get to the parkway while going north on US 58. Somewhere near a post office and a cut off but where from there I do not know?

I don't know about glaciers pushing gold but they sure made some beautiful diamonds----------keep your eyes open for them, a metal detector can not find them.

I sold my gold panning books so I don't guess I will be doing any gold panning anytime soon. I still have about 40 good treasure hunting books left if anyone wants to purchase them. Or, you can purchase all for $350. go to treasurenet.com and look in the classified for the names of these books that have not been sold. Thanks.
