;D STARBUCKS! "SUPER" HIGH-TEST!! Reading a book... THE BEALE PAPERS: THE LOST LEGACY by Robert N. Williams; TWO chapters on JEAN LaFITTE. HA! Page 33, "By 1818, Jean was at a peak of POWER, INFLUENCE, and WEALTH.... Assuming he wrote the "cover story" of the expedition to Santa Fe and the mining of GOLD & SILVER, he PROBABLY included some elements of TRUTH...." What WAS the "FRENCH CONNECTION"? Was St. Louis, Mo., MOSTLY FRENCH? He and his brother, Pierre... were BOTH former SPIES for Spain... IF... the treasure was too "heavy" to travel OVER-LAND... what about SAILING "it" around Fla., up the "eastern sea-board" to the Chesapeake Bay; UP the James River... "walk" SOME of "it" around the "FALLS" of Richmond, Va. SOME of "it" transported OVER-LAND... SOME of "it" transported by the James River... to Bedford County, Va. AHOY, MATIES! Jean was a Shepardic Jew... there was a S.J. "colony" in Richmond, Va... AND! CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA... home of TJ! Did TJ come down to L'burg, Va. "back then", to meet with AJ, "hero" of the battle of New Orleans, ONLY? OR... did AJ ask TJ to help JL "bury" some of JL's WEALTH, in "those hills"?

Jean Lafitte died off the coast of the Yucatan Penisula. He sat up a home base on Galveston and surrounding islands after the War of 1812. His treasures have been found inland in Texas. As far as an actual trip to Sante Fe there is no records. He was along with an expedition sent out by TJ but was turned back in northwest Texas by the Spanish.
He had a winter home in Havanna, Cuba and most of his booty is buried there if Castro will let you find it.

;D STARBUCKS! Is there a "Beale Treasure" CONNECTION between Jean LaFitte, Andrew Jackson, Maj. John Reid, Thomas Jefferson, Beale's Rifles, New Orleans, War of 1812, Lynchburg, Va., 1815... SPIES!...? DUNNO... it SURE is FUN, doing R & I, on it ALL. There was a US MINT established in New Orleans; did JL "donate" to it? It was for a VERY brief period of time, I think. During the Civil War, New Orleans was the "site" of the CSA MINT... Guarded by CSA MARINES! YEP! REBEL MARINES!

Pretty interesting character that Jean Lafitte. I've been studying him and his life for over 35 years. Born in Grand Isle, a mile from his fort Grand Terre. Moved to New Orleans 18 years ago, and have been making it my life to find as much info on maps, treasure spots, old out posts, stories from hundreds of old and some passed to young. What inspired me the most was, when I was a teen I had just got off of the school bus from Grand Isle High, and was walking down my street, which was stripped down to dirt & sand mix, for future paved street. When I had noticed a couple of sparkling, shiny items turned up in the dug up sand dirt mix. I approached closer, and there it was, to my amazment, four old gold coins. I ram home and grabbed my older brother and showed him what I had found. We both walked up & down the street, with the "treasure hunters" beginners luck. We found nineteen more gold coins. Had 3 of them checked out by the local university in Thibodaux. Who in turn contacted the government, and in the end, they turned out to be Spanish gold coins from a Ship that was missing, and carrying cargo of silver and gold ingots, coins & jewels. We were told that during the digging of the street, a bulldozer must"ve dug up one of Lafittes treasure chests, and spreaded some of the booty along the street. The police & government showed up the next morning and had blocked the street, while they had at least 100+ people wiyh metal detectors and digging supplies. Long story short, they never told us what else was found, and also kepted the 3 coins that we gave them to give us history on. I've since been on many hunts & excursions through all these years. Few, successful, most nothing. I can tell you one true fact,... every chest contains a hint to where the one before was buried, I guess if they forgot or something. Good luck, or "bon chance"! Now getting to other true facts, me being a Mason, Scottish Rites & York Rites (Templar Knight), and living in Louisiana, I became intrigued when I found out about Freemason Island just hours away from my home. Automatically associated it to Jean Lafitte. When I was at a Grand Lodge meeting, and we had a Federal historian there. I had inquired about the history and naming of Feemason Island, he instructed all of us, that it was a bird mating island, the size of 10,000 acres back in the late 1800's, and was discovered and visited mainly by the Audobon Society. for art and information on the different species. In 1904, a Scottish Rites Free Mason, President Teddy Roosevelt visited these islands, and fell in love with the place, particularlly for the birds, Red Egrets, Great Snowey White Egrets, and especially the Pelicans, which is an important symbol in the Scottish Rites Rose Croix. Therefore he named the island at that time Freemason Island. We visited the island often after my discovery, and the only remains are shells and sand about 3 feet out the water (in March) by 12 to 30 feet wide, by about a fourth to a half of mile long on low tide

YES, you are correct, "357"... TR was a GREAT lover of the outdoors/wildlife... AND! Freemason (AASR/SJ). The Pelican feeds the young by piercing it's breast (heart) and letting the pouring blood refresh/empower 'em. Taken from an OLD Rosicrucian (R+C) from FRANCE, Scottish Rite, French Rite, It is ALL a bit different from "mainstream" Freemasonry;had one member of our AMD (Research Lodge) do a presentation (he was FBI agent & had training in New Orleans, LA; loved the info & doing Research & Investigation (R & I) for MORE!
