I saw no where to reply to your post so I will reply here.
The stone looks to me like rusty quartz. Rusty quartz shows a presence of iron ore--------the blue is most likely copper ore and the yellow is possibly flakes of gold? This is just my guess, what does everyone else think?

Agree with beale... it looks like "rusty iron"... which means that your SOIL has a VERY high "iron content". The YELLOW... COULD be MICA, which DOES look like "flakes of GOLD".

thanks for the replies i have found an old geo report from the 40's an old prospect was tested close to my find. the report stated "Sulfide-bearing quartz outcropping along fault zone from limonite-manganese stained hornfels. grab samples from hornfels tested.. Au .2 oz. ton, silver .6 oz. ton tungsten .6-1.8 oz. ton" not profitable at the time..... would these numbers be profitable today?

Mica is found in sedimentary rocks while gold is found in igneous rocks. As far as "profitable" I would not think so, unless you think it profitable to have a ton of rock pulverized, processed and smelted for $200. a ton. I wouldn't do that but a large firm may?

I don't think it would be "profitable", either. "Rest my case, between the gold & mica theory" When I thought I had "flecks" of GOLD in white quartz in Bedford County, the Rock guy at STONES & BONES said it was MICA... WILL look into it, tho.

There is gold in Bedford County. I know where there is plenty upon Such Mountain. It maybe profitable? Need to take a sample to have it assayed. If you had mica in quartz you need to remember where that place is located. See you later.
