Has any of you treasure hunters ever searched for the missing Civil War Payroll near Buckhannon, West Virginia? Do you have any information on the service record of a William Bush? I have the service record of William Taylor and he was in the area during the time of this missing payroll. I have not been able to find the service record of William Bush however. Michael Paul Henson said before he passed away that he had the service record of William Bush. If anyone out there has this service record or knows where I can get it please let me know.
Also while on the subject of Buckhannon, West Virginia, has anyone ever searched for the Snath revolutionary war treasure buried there in 1777? Just thought I would ask no one else is talking on the forum. Thanks. Albert

i can not help in your search for any service records. my question to you is, are you actively searching for these lost payrolls near buckhannon, or rock cave (then known as centerville).? ........ i have lived in upshur county ALL my life (i was born at st joseph's hospital) and i have heard stories such as lost civil war payrolls and a lost silver mine in indian camp. ....... i believe that i know the location of the silver mine (its located on state property) ...... and i believe that i know the location of one of these lost buried civil war payrolls (located in the same area as the silver mine, but on the other side of the river -- on land owned by a coal company) ....... i am looking for someone that is experienced searching archives, as in when railroads were laid, and when coal mines were opened or closed. .... regardlessly, if you would like to chat or compare notes please contact me twiztidnick1979@yahoo.com
