Yo! ;D As most of you already know... the GENESIS of the Beale Pamphlet/Papers (AKA "Job Print") was in Lynchburg, Va. in 1885; prior to that... NOTHING was known "PUBLIC-WISE" about the Beale story/Ciphers/Treasure. I DO believe the Beale/Beall expedition DID happen... in 1817-1821; I THINK it was more of a "Spy Trip" to "scout" the SOUTHWEST USA to gain MORE land from Spain, later to be MEXICO. UNLIKE the Lewis & Clark Expedition which had EXPLICIT instructions from Prez. Thomas Jefferson (and MUCH documentation on the "Net"), the 1817-21 expedition is "lost" in the MIST of uncertain history. That period of time was full of MISTRUST between the Jefferson Republicans and the Burr Federalists... with CYPHERS used daily, in communications "here & there". ANYWAY... for info on LYNCHBURG, Va. www.lynchburgonline.com/history.htmlwww.lynchburghistory.comwww.lynchburgonline.com/index.html?historical

Yo! ;D WHAT TIME IS IT ?!? "WHAT IF TIME" !!! ;D What if... Washington Inn/Hotel was a "Jewish Establishment"? " Thomas J. Beale/Beall was Jewish? " Robert Morriss was Jewish? " Robert Morriss was WEALTHY... because of his "con- nections"? " BOTH Thomas J. Beale/Beall & Robert Morriss were "mystics", familiar with the GEMATRIA? " They encoded the "documents", using the GEMETRIA? " ALL the above was just a "COVER", to hide SOME- THING "within four miles" from WASHINGTON INN/ HOTEL/NORVELL/ARLINGTON HOUSE @ 1885 or there- after... in LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA? And NOW... for MORE sleepless nights...

Yo! 1786 - Lynchburg, Va. "founded" (located next to James River... THEN KA Fluvanna River). 1817 FRANKLIN Hotel built by Samuel Harrison, as beale PREVIOUSLY stated... 1817 Norvell House built for Capt. Norvell (LATER to known as NORVELL-OTEY HOUSE) (B & B) www.norvelloteyhouse.com I have seen the "plot" of OLD Lynchburg, Va. as it was in 1786... "rectangular", ALL laid out by the RIVER. NOW... the QUESTIONS... Did the FRANKLIN become the WASHINGTON? Was NORVELL-ARLINGTON HOUSE named NORVELL "in Norvell's memory''? Did Beale visit the FRANKLIN Hotel in 1820, or was it known as WASHINGTON INN/HOTEL? Lynchburg, Va. was STILL "primitive" in 1819, I think... I can find NOTHING on Washington Inn/Hotel... NOTHING on Robert Morris... NOTHING on Beale/Beall's visit to Lynchburg; the "story" FEELS too much like a 1885-style "story"... ANY additional help from YOU guys would be GREAT!!! ;D

Yo! ;D Went to Lynchburg, Va. Museum today... "pics" of REBELS from Lynchburg, Va. (& members of the Confederate Vets) were: T.T. Munford and... MAX GUGGENHEIMER, who supposedly brought Robert Morriss "old" house on Main Street. Max was Jewish and buried in a "non-Jewish" cementery on Grace Street, up from the James. Gotta go back with my "pic" of "Buck" Wright... see if I can "find him"...

Rebel,
You might want to check a little deeper into Max Guggenheimer's past........His father was a cryptographer who came to America in the 1850's if my memory serves me correctly.

Hello all you Beale treasure hunters! As a direct descendant of the Beale family, I am excited about searching for this treasure. For my Birthday last week, my nephew gave me the book- The Beale Treasure, the author I understand lives in Lynchburg. My father made remarks for years about a treasure being buried and none of us took him seriously. I know that my Grandfather-John Thomas Beale, was raised on a plantation in Boykins Va. We only know that he left his homeplace due to an argument over something and came to central WV. We have yet to find out why he left and never returned to see his family. In Colonial Willaimsburg, Va there are several graves of great-aunts, and uncles. We are trying to piece things together. Truxton Beale? Anyone familiar with this name? Molly

Hello Mollyh, I'm sure we all would like to see your "Family Tree"! Read all the past post and that will pretty much catch you up on what's been going on here.

The only Truxton Beale that I have located so far may not be the one you are looking for?
Beale, Truxton (1856-1936) of San Francisco, Calif. Born in San Francisco, Calif., March 6, 1856. Son of Edward Fitzgerald Beale; son-in-law of James Gillespie Blaine. Republican. Lawyer; U.S. Minister to Persia, 1891-92; delegate to Republican National Convention from California, 1912. Beale Park in Bakersfield is named for him. Died near Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, MD., June 2, 1936. Interment at Bruton Parish Churchyard, Williamsburg, Virginia.
I believe Truxton Beale's father Edward Fitzgerald Beale was the first man to tell Congress of the United States that gold had been found in California at Sutter's Mill, 1849.

Yo! ;D mollyh, what beale has "posted" about Truxton Beale is the same info that I have seen; he was the son of Edward... Edward had a "war" with the railroad coming through "cattle country" out West, and his son Truxton, wanted to spend MORE time socializing in Washington, DC or San Francisco... just do engine search on Edward Beale or Truxton Beale. In terms of your G Father, John Thomas Beale... just do engine search on that name... go to Cindyslist.com (Genealogy site)... or even check in colonial Williamsburg "listings". Best of LUCK to ya...
