Tomm,
You are a hopeless nut case! You are living in a fantasy world. This is your play ground. Does anyone else out there have anything of value. What Tomm is posting is worthless except for him boasting to himself. I'll see you all around. good-bye

Seems everything that can be said about the Beale treasure has already been said and i don't really see that anything has been acomplished other than having a little fun. I think the real key is somewhere that none of has looked yet. I have 40 years invested in this project and haven't discovered anything except a strange number arangement that involves all three papers that need to be combined to make one readable cipher that i haven't been able to decipher.

kydave,
Since, the Beale Cypher Code was made less than twenty years after the Civil War, maybe you should try the key to the Confederate Cypher Code?

have researched a little of that in the past and only could find info on the signal core using a flag to send code on the battlefield. If you know it try it who knows!

Beale,
Are you referring to "Come Retribution?" But don't worry about it... you don't need it.
kydave,
You're correct! The 'key' is some where none of you have looked. But its NOT a single thing. Its a series of things together. You start, really, by de-ciphering the cipher #2 message... then 'number and list' the words of that message... then look for the markers.' And don't forget... the Innes 'Declaration of Independence' and the Hart ciphers are essential!

I'm sorry! I meant to say 'number and list' each PROPER letter... of the message:
Beale2 Hart2 1. i 115 115 2. h 73 73 3. a 24 24 4. v 807 818
There are a lot of 'mistakes' in the original Beale ciphers, but for some reason, the Hart ciphers correct that. And the 'only' DoI that should be used is a copy that has the 'correct' lettering of 'upper and lower case' words. But remember... you have to de-cipher the #2 message first. Puts a completely 'different' out-look on the problem, because it contains the markers.

No, Mr. Chaney I was not referring to "Come Retribution" I meant what I said the "Key to the Confederate Cypher Code." It was a circle in side of a square. Jefferson Davis had one in his belongings that were captured at Waldo, Florida. How it worked I do not know but I am going to find out. Jefferson Davis' personal belongings should be in the Smithsonian Museum. If we only knew which box on which shelve?
I have already tried your substitution of cyphers for letters of the decoded message. I have also tried it ever letter forward and backwards. Also with the DOI. If I was a letter or two off or more it would still be decyphered correctly. But, they were not the "KEY."
Sorry, kydave. I was not being upity with you, I just thought maybe someone out there may have the Cypher Code Key of the Confederate Government. There being so much talk about KGC and all. And I thought maybe you had access to a copy of it. That is all, nothing intended, just sharing information. I also have a copy of a St. Louis Newspaper mid-July, 1809. It has a complete copy of the original DOI. There are two other stories on this page. It could be the "KEY" to the Beale Treasure Cyphers? Beale was out there in 1815, so maybe he ventured out there in 1809?

There is a book... not sure how old, called "Come Retribution" by 2 cryptographers... I believe--- NSA... who say the last code sequence used by the CSA... was just that, "Come Retribution."
Look it up or contact them... they may be able to tell you what you want to know.
As for me... I still think the final answer is right in front of me. Just have to clear away some more of the clutter to see it.
Its sort of like the property I bought up here in the mountains. All over-grown with weeds and saplings. Wasn't till I got out there and cleared the area, that I realized... just how beautiful the area, with just a tree here and there, and some fresh grass... really made it look.
Tell me... what do you think about the Hart ciphers? Isn't it amazing how that once they are used, with the mistakes in the Beale numbers corrected... that the message makes sense. Does it seem to you, that perhaps 'the Hart story' is "ALSO" a part of this mystery?
A short time ago... I was interested in contacting Jim Kouf, the guy who wrote the story-line for the movie "National Treasure"... because I was intersted in the 'Charlotte' aspect of the story. And I had mentioned it to a guy I worked with. He said, 'give me a few days, and I'll let you know.' "He knew" where this guy, Kouf, was at. Un-beknownst to me, this guy Kouf, was a 'Mason'... presently in Uzbekistan. But my friend, also a high-ranking Mason... was able to get in contact with him, in a matter of hours. Something, that he remarks in his e-mail to my friend... that even Kouf's own family couldn't do. And when I queried my friend about having contacted Kouf so quickly, and about other things in the Beale mystery.... his reply was: "Elwood... "we" know what you are trying to do." And "we" appreciate your efforts. But I can not tell you anymore than you already know. Keep going as you are... you "will be in-the-know" soon enough. There are many things about this mystery... that I just can't tell you! And then he stopped talking to me.
Now, is that strange or not?

Elwood, You should join the local Lodge where you live. "We" are not allowed to tell you much, then maybe you can put something together. That's "one" of the reasons i joined 40 years ago ha! ha! That's when i first got the Beale Papers, good luck with your pursuits.
