A couple of years ago I found out or believe I found out that Robert Morris and Sarah Mitchell were originally from Charles City County, Maryland which is just across the river from Loudoun County, Virginia. Most of the records in this area were destroyed during the Civil War. Still there are records out there to be found.
Robert Morris and Sarah Mitchell's parents lived in Charles City County, Maryland and are buried at the Ketochin Baptist Church. They have a baptist church record book from those times for sale on the Internet but I have been unable to locate or buy a copy of the book. Also Robert and Sarah had a daughter by the name of Hannah Anna. Hannah married a Brown and Robert Morris was listed as her father. As you know Anglina Brown married John Bufford Otey and they were the parents of James Beverly Ward. If anyone can obtain a book of the records of the Ketochin Baptist Church I hope you will post their parents and genealogy. Thanks. Albert
PS I also found out Robert Morris's business partner was from Charles City County, Maryland and he was a Captain in the war of 1812 from Bedford County, Virginia. He had a son by the same name and he married a Cherokee Indian from Bedford County, Virginia.

;D Well done, beale... you could "google" KETOCHIN BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY - LOUDON COUNTY, VA; MAYBE, you will find Robert, Sarah, and Anna. I DID read that Robert MORRISS was a hotelier from Arlington, Va. once; it didn't "make sense", so I ignored THAT info. Was there a WASHINGTON HOTEL in Arlington, Va. ? Continue to share info, as you find it... is there a BEDFORD COUNTY, MD?

Rebel, No I was not posting that there was a Bedford County, Maryland or a Washington Tavern or even a Beale Treasure in Maryland, I was only trying to find where Robert Morris and Sarah Mitchell came from, who their parents were and a record of their marriage. I would like to know also how Robert Morris came to Lynchburg with so much money to buy up most of the town. He wasn't that old when the War of 1812 broke out and I can find no service record for him. Yet his partner in business James Dunnington was Captain of a militia outfit from Campbell County, Lynchburg in particular. They had dealings with Thomas Jefferson. Although Robert Morris may have been exempt from the war as he was Mayor of Lynchburg at about that time.

;D It's OK, beale, I was just asking... I am looking for the burial places of Robert & Sarah (& Anna); NOTHING found in Lynchburg, Va. "area". Thought they MAY have been buried where they (Robert) was "stated" to be from... "with HIS parents"; just a "clue" to consider... is all. There IS a Bedford County, PA... near Loundon County, Va. BUT! Robert MORRIS was mayor of Lynchburg, Va. in 1813, and MAY be buried in Old City Cemetery (MANY old graves near the James River are unmarked). The "city" itself went ONLY up to the street where the current Courthouse is (NOT the original building). I DO have several copies of "old Lynchburg, Va." maps... NONE which has WASHING- TON HOTEL/INN on 'em. If I can find a copy "on-line" will "post" it. ;D

;D STILL looking for the map... MEANWHILE, I did find THIS; "Google" ROBERT MORRISS, WILLIAM GALT, JOHN ALLAN, AND THE $ 750,000 INHERITANCE. I also have DESCENDANTS OF ROBERT MORRISS, must have been from a book out of Bedford County Library. NO children were indicated. Occupation 1) 1824, Manager of Washington HOUSE - Lynchburg, Va.; Occupation 2) 1826, Owner of Franklin Hotel - Lynchburg, Va.; Of interest: Involved in the early days of Beale Treasure; Served as 1) 1813, MAYOR of Lynchburg, Va.; Served as 2) 1813, Committee to build a new market house - Lynchburg, Va.; Served as 3) 1819, Treasurer of Lynchburg Toll Bridge Company. ANYWAY... the OLD map of Lynchburg, Va. was put together for Lynchburg, Va. for a celebration of 250 years or something, and taken from LYNCHBURG AND IT'S PEOPLE by W. Asbury Christian , if anyone can get a copy.

Rebel, I appreciate you mailing the information but if this about the $750,000 inheritance spoken of on the EAP site, I have already read it. If different and you want to mail it, go ahead. Thanks. Albert
By the way, I am still trying to get with the landowner to make the dig for the Beale Treasure. Our job has picked up since last vacation and I can not make the time. He wants me to come up, now ----------I can't. Story of my life. We worked 17 of 20 Saturdays last year and this year is getting even more so.

Mrs. Chaney, sorry to hear about WILDCARD; I had the same thing, back in '92; had brain surgery... 2 1/2 months in "locked-in-state" coma; THREE hospitals, @ 6 years of rehab; if you wanna "talk" to my wife about VICARIOUS TRAUMA... go to www. hopenetwork.centralva.net I was "clinically dead"; to be "confined" to a nursing home, in a "vegative state". It took LOTS of work, and we can only "recover" as best we can; THANKFULLY, my "intellect" has only minimal "damage". Keep in touch...

Sorry to hear about "Wildcard", he was a great asset to this Forum. He did like to argue a little to make his point but that was just the way he was and we all understood that. Hope he makes a full recovery and can come back and Post again soon.

Rebel, Thanks I did receive your package. Slow about responding, I have been rather busy selling my CSA Coins on ebay with Certifcates of Authenticity and all. Most of them will run out on the time tomorrow morning. I think two coins have been bidded on but only 1/2 what they worth and with the certificates they should go a lot higher. But, no one knows my name or my LLC but they will. I purchased a book trying to find the CSA Gold that went south of Danville. There only three in the world, I bought one for $155. Read it yesterday and today. Still does not pin point the location but it is about 100 miles from where everyone has been searching for it. Much like all the treasure hunters looking at Alligator Key for the treasure ships of the Atocha and Margarita that Mel Fisher found about thirty miles off of Key West. Sometimes you can not find treasure because you may be looking in the wrong places. Research will help sometimes and sometimes you can just get lucky. Either way I will take it.

;D HIGH-TEST! "Off-topic" yet still relevant; since the BEALE PAPERS written in 1885 alluded to the 2nd year of the CONFEDERATE WAR (1861 - 1862)... Beale buried HIS treasure TWO times in November. "Wintered over" in Lynchburg, Va. (until @ March, per BEALE PAPERS) + Lynchburg, Va, was LAST state "Head- quarter" with STATE GOV'T during the War Between the States (aka Civil War )... I think I would look at Civil War era maps of Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, etc. for OLD roads, RR Tracks (like Virginia & Tenn. Rail Road), waterways, and travel about 100 miles WEST of these "travel paths". The REBS were trying to flee AWAY from the Yanks. I think Jefferson Davis is a "clue" for Thomas Jefferson Beale (MHO). and he was trying to get to Fla. to sail for CUBA, or TEXAS (HOT-BED of KGC/REBS)... MAYBE even Mexico. There was/still is, a CONCLAVE of ex-REB familes in Mexico, south of Texas. There is a city in South America, composed of families of ex-REBS... they even have SONS of CONFEDERATE VETERANS chapter. Spanish-speaking REBELS... WOW!
