Everybody had better hurry up with a solution! I hear theres a group from Pa. coming out to dig with a permission slip this month! The group is named "Finders Keepers", very appropriate! The say the loot is NOT in a cave as some claim.

Finders Keeper or are they Loosers Weepers
Hole' lotta digging gonna go on
In Bedford County
For a glory hole
'hole lotta diggin' goin' on
on some man's land
which is his plan
swimming hole diggin's gonna go on
finders keepers or are they loosers and weepers
diggin on a man's land, who gave them a paper which was his plan,
hole lotta a swimming hole digging gonna go on.
summers a commin' and boy is he chumming
them there yankee's who are gonna dig a big hole on his land
he'll fill it with water and swim like the Otters found in the creek near by.
Yep finders are keepers and the loosers are weepers a hole lotta diggin goin on.
New song lyrics for Jerry Lee Lewis

If these guys don't find any treasure maybe we should all go back and reconsider Wildcards posts on the main board under the Edgar Allen Poe thread!

KYDAVE...
Since nothing else works... does it?
My conclusions and findings don't seem so outlandish... DO THEY!
Think about this...
Did anyone ever give you a 'gift'... a "box" and inside that 'box'... was a slightly smaller 'box' and inside that 'box'... was your gift!
But to find that 'box'... you have to "think outside the box!"
Elwood

Who knows WC! Since you and Legrand are thinking about the same box you two should hook up! You just might come up with proof positive, that's what we all really want anyway! Just don't argue about who got there first! It's always been about the numbers with me, not the treasure or the story which has it's flaws.

Yo! Rebel here: ;D HAPPY LEE/JACKSON DAY !!! The Reb re-enactors were having a educational booth with a BIG cannon at the Bedford Museum today... I went up to 'em and said... "My! what a bunch of unrepentent Rebels, we have here !" They were NOT amused... I then told 'em to relax, I was one of them... that I was in Comp. I, 10th Va. "Foot" Cav. out of Elkton, Va. (AKA Conrad's Store), about 32 years ago... we shared "war stories"... of Gettysburg... Harpers Ferry... New Market... & "ghost stories" of weird events camping out near the old battlefields... they heard and saw the ghosts & spirits too... HA! Gettysburg, Pa. is the MOST haunted battlefield in the USA...

I just finished reading Elwood Chaneys post on the Poe thread, and then this thing about gifts and outside the box. Elwood is correct about thinking outside the box but you must open the box to find a gift. Otherwise its all moot.
Legrand talks about Poe's signature inside BC1, Hot Damn the man is sharp. His (Poe's) birthdate is also between the DOI's date. Ed Poe is the box lock, you can find him at the box located at numerals 480 & 480 of the DOI provided with the beale papers. You can find his birth date between the 7 & 4
I have noticed on this particular forum with only a few exceptions no one has bothered to read the beale papers and tried to understand them. Every one wants someone to hand to them a solution or provide them with information and then at the same time will not share what they may have concluded about the real design of the story.
KyDave recently posted about the key will reach you in time, not knowing how close to the truth he is.
Elwood Chaneys post are not exactlly outlandish but are lacking reality, they are however creative in nature and upon investigation will take you up that Wild Goose Creek. I went and read all the posts he has made on this forum assuming that the Wild Card is also him.
The reason I am even posting this tonight is I have just finished reading the real BC2 translation and if any of you sucessfully do the same thing, you will not only be amazed at the simplicity but the creative genius of the author. I will not spoil the surprise in store for you.
For 2007 I give you this prediction concerning the beale treasure story. The true author will become known, the real treasure hidden will be revealed and many will be surprised and some few very very disappointed.

"Legrand talks about Poe's signature inside BC1, Hot Damn the man is sharp."
Thank-you.
Write me a nice long letter on what you believe about Poe being author of this mystery. If you will. John William Sherman sure is compelling, however. Looking forward to your message.
