What books, websites, videos etc would you recommend? I think it would be helpful to compile a list of some kind.
(It is also a sneaky way to publicise your own efforts if you have written a book or built a website for example)
Actually, websites are best posted in the Links section, nevertheless, books in particular would be of interest to newbies and old hands alike.
What do you think? Is "Gold in the Blue Ridge; The True Story of the Beale Treasure" - by Pauline B. Innis, for example, a must-have?
How about a review of your favourite book/website?
Personally, I discovered the Beale saga in Paul Hoffman's "Archimedes' Revenge: the joys and perils of mathematics." The book itself doesn't deal specifically with treasure hunting (except in the chapter on Beale) but it is a fantastic read. After all, the way he presented the story of Beale and the attempts to decode the papers was rivetting and here I am now, some 6 years later with a forum dedicated to treasure hunting. Need I say more?
