So how about this guy, Daniel Cole who supposedly found the cave. I went to the website and it looked pretty convincing.

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Beale, u r correct... LOTS of "mining" went on around Monvale, Va./Buford's area on BOTH sides of the Blue Ridge Mountains... especially during the C.W. and afterwards... u can even see the "Dickie" train tracks west of Montvale, going up into the mountains; there is even an Overlook on the BRP indicating mines down in the Roanoke Valley... like u said... there are LOTS of em... reckin the Rebs hid part of the CSA Treasury up there somewhere? LGA!!!

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Beale, I do know that the Chimney, etc. is off 460 just south of Montvale, today... the Rail Road tracks are on north side of 460, right in Montvale, I think... (It has been a while, since I have been "downtown" Monvale ;D). ANYWAY... I DO KNOW Lynchburg, Va. had MORE Red-Light Houses... YO MOMA! ;D This was during C.W. and after (@ 1885...) "Buzzard Roost"... 4th Street... HA! And today... Jerry Falwell and a church on every other corner... LGA!

Yo! Rebel here: ;D I reviewed my copy of GOLDEN VAULT by E.J. Easterling... and the cabin that Beale & Crew stayed in was across 460 from Buford's Taven; NOT sure if they had Ho's... HA! (ENTERTAINMENT, indeed!!! ;D). That "spring" u saw Beale, MAY be Goose Creek running dry... dunno... Rail Road tracks ARE in the middle of Montvale...

Yo! Rebel here: "BRRRR!" (DANG YANKEE GROUDHOG!!!) Was up at 4:00 a.m.; NO snow... starting "white stuff" at 5:30 a.m. ;still snowing... NO MO snow-balls... am ready for SPRING!!! (Speaking of...) Yes, I have seen the "spring " on rt. side of 460... going west towards Roanoke from Montvale... I also thought the "place" was at B.G.; map in the GOLDEN VAULT has it all (including "Mill") south of 460/Montvale (page 64)... across from "Old" Montvale Element. School where Bedford County Sheriff Office has "satellite office". Beale & Comp. (probably members of Royal Arch Lodge of FreeMasons, who COULD keep SECRETS...) had a MONTH to look around the first time to create a DEPOSITORY (KGC "Key Word")... We think they followed Goose Creek... NORTH and SOUTH... looking for the "Place"... I think they went south... on Goose Creek.

Yo! Rebel here: (glued to the "puter"... dang "sticky stuff"!!! ;D) Yep, it does pose several questions... my sense is... Capt. Beale (of the "Host", chosen as such by the men... Royal Arch Masons WILL recognize THAT term... ) stayed with B.P. at the "Big House"... the rest (Companions... again, Royal Arch Masons WILL recognize THAT term...) stayed at the Brown Cabin, across the "road" with the wagons probably in a secured place (and guarded by Sentinels "at the door"... 4th Degree York Rite Masons will recognize THAT term... )... AND! IF B.P. was also a Mason (we know that Ward was... and Morris... among others in this interesting "piece of history"... B.P. would have ensured that ALL were fed & taken care of... (MEN & HORSES...). As you know, later B.P. went on to build Mill(s) along Goose Creek... going south... WHERE did he get the funding for it all?

Ha! Strange, I've had visions of treasure buried along a stream in a mill or spring house in the area for years. Ha! Actually I figured if the Beale loot was ever found it would be in such a location so no difficulty would be had in finding it. If i was closer i would check everyone of these sites i could find just on a hunch!

Beale is gonna have to take lots of pics, etc. for his TOME... HA! HA! HA!

Yo! Rebel here: Yeah, Beale... you may be correct; (being on another "thread"... ). HOWEVER, I had a reason to include it... as I "see" a connection between the two... Swift's and Beale Treasure... NO ONE has found either... "Swift" may have been a PIRATE making "fake" coins outta Silver, back then... we Masons have "legends' of being "friends" to Pirates, etc. (he went back to England to get his "contacts" Pirates/Knight Templars/Masons) to come back across the "little pond" (Atlantic Ocean) to enhance his endeavor... but being "blind", couldn't find his "Depository". Masonically speaking, he was "blind in darkness"... and so... KGC is simply descended from that, with FreeMasons being able to keep the "secrets"... etc. etc. BTW, the "Four miles from Buford's..." MAY be "Masonic-speak" for 4th degree FreeMasons to look CLOSER at the Beale Treasure story... after-all, it was released AFTER the Civil War... AFTER the fire destroyed MOST of the pamphlets... and the KEY players may have been members of Marshall Lodge of FreeMasons and/or Fincastle Lodge of FreeMasons in 1885... LGA!

Heres something everyone needs to know guys that could possibly be an aid to treasure hunting in the U.S. someday. For several years beginning in 1769 almost all mapmakers calculated their longitude from Independence Hall in Philadelphia built in 1732. It is 75 degrees 8 minutes and 45 seconds west of Greenwich. The Latitude is 39 degrees 56 minutes and 54 seconds north. Philadelphia was used as a Meridian by some mapmakers before 1769. So if you ever come up with a distance to measure or cordinates you just might be starting at the wrong place! Some believe this is why the Swift Mines haven't been located, or maybe even the Beale treasure or who knows how many others!
