Yo! Rebel here: ;D For 2007, I have decided to create a "non-profit", eventually being a 501 (3) (c) called Treasures Quest, Inc. to explore ALL treasures/legends possible... I will "post" here what I can find on the "net"; others will have to do the "leg work"; I still will "walk the ground" here in Bedford County and nearby environs; Bedford County, Campbell County, Roanoke County, Lybchburg, Roanoke, SouthWest Virginia has TOO many legends/folklore "treasures" to totally ignore; SonoftheSouth, welcome to the Hound's board (BTW... did U know Rockster is from Scotland? LAWD GAWD A'MIGHTY! I am ONLY a researcher, BUT! THIS STUFF IS FUN !!! (sunny out...)

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Glad U got da "hard-copies", beale; it WAS interesting... looking for original newspaper article, that Toler Ransone wrote about "Bear" & "Buck'... I think they were BOTH Rebs/Sentinels watching over the "Super-cache" (aka Beale Treasure, in memory of Beall, who was killed by Yanks); IF Col. Munford refused to surrender at Appomattox, easy to see why "locals" here in Bedford county MOSTLY refer the B.T. as $$$$ and weapons buried in these "hills"...
