Yo! Rebel here: ;D More R & D for "Beale Treasure/CSA Treasury" connection... After the C.W., Gen. Munford refused to surrender at Appomattox; returned to his wife, his farm (HUGE), next to Jackson Mountain, in northern Bedford County @ ONE MILE NORTH of the village of Forest, Va., not far from Lowry, Va. where "Buck" W. T. Wright died... not far from the Bell "Community" (AKA Bellevue, Bell's View...)... reading BEDFORD VILLAGES, LOST & FOUND # 3 for info... will "post" more as I go...

BIO: www.vmi.edu/archives/Civil_War/CWGenerals/MunfordT.html BIO: aotw.org/officers.php?officers_id=887 Home in Lynchburg (date - unknown): www.garlandhill.org/tour.php?linknum=36 He was buried in Lynchburg, Va. Timeline thus far... 1884 - Prez: BOD, VMI; 1885 - Beale/Ward Papers... hmmmm... WHAT IF... MUNFORD was the AUTHOR of the B/W Papers; WHAT IF... Munford WAS BEALE... WHAT IF... his "associates" were classmates/alumni of VMI... WHAT IF... there is a "CODE" within the PAPERS about the SECRET of Beale Treasure REALLY being the CSA TREASURY/WEAPONS, ETC.; AND! a GREAT book: Time/LifeBooks - THE CIVIL WAR: SPIES, SCOUTS, AND RAIDERS, IRREGULAR OPERATIONS... p. 66 - PIC of CSA Cipher Wheel (AKA Jeff Davis Wheel...); and OTHER "neat" cipher stuff... get it from your local library or USED BOOK SHOP... Yo! Rebel here: ;D Late at nite... waiting for Irish Ghost show on "Telly"... beale, upper Goose Creek Valley is too far away from Lynchburg, Va. where "wifie" is getting training to be licensed as a Coach/Counselor in 2 years; Munford Farm is 1 mile NORTH of Forest, Va. and Marshall Plantation is @ 1 mile SOUTH of Forest, Va. and @ 1/2 mile EAST of Forest, Va. nearer Popular Forest... where T J had his "Retreat House"... Rt. 811 ( Thomas Jefferson Highway...) has a middle "Turkey Claw" which went into old village of GERANIUM, according to BEDFORD VILLAGES, LOST & FOUND # 3, page 100; it is now Rt. 778. SO... Munford Farm is about 2 1/2 miles from Marshall Plantation, and I am NOT sure where it was, or who owns the land, now. I know what to look for, tho... the stuff is buried in a 20 foot well, topped with a tree, similar to what I am gonna show you at New Jerusalem after mid-April...

Yo! Rebel here, with "High-Test": ;D beale, it has been a couple of years... I remember standing around at the 7-11 on the SOUTH side of Rt. 460 outside of Lynchburg, Va. (near TimberLake Road...); a bunch of old guys & I were standing around, drinking coffee (of course ! ...), and I asked 'em about Old Plantation Road across Rt. 460... one of 'em piped up and said it was where an old palntation was, at one time... MARSHALL, he thought; and another piped up about the "well thing"; the plantation was between Old Plantation Road and Turkey Foot Road, and HUGE... there is a lake... and it has been sub-divided... LOTS of homes, and a "tree line" divides it from Old Plantation Road, which leads to COFFEE CUP Restaurant, off off TimberLake Rd. exist from Rt. 460, leading into Lynchburg... I will try to draw a "visual picture" of how the "well" looked (with the 4 or 5 million bucks of CSA $$$$$); don't know WHO they were... should asked... didn't ... MAY have been "pulling my leg" (joking around...).

Yo! Me again... I forgot to answer question about the "turkey claw"... beale, you will get copy of that map... and the article on GERANIUM; the middle "claw/toe" is the SHORTEST... and points "roughly" SOUTH-WEST... supposedly, the Post Office for GERANIUM was located at the site of the middle "claw/toe"... it was just a small village, of a few houses... interestly, almost DIRECTLY SOUTH of the old town of Forest, Va. ( MAYBE a mile and 1/4... ).

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Good, beale, will try to do "well map" from memory (or MAYBE, I did it back in 2004/5, when we were looking at first "rental" in Bedford, if so, it is in storage... I think I can still do it, tho... ); ANYWAY... as I said, it is now a "sub-division"... I will have to go to Jones Memorial Library in Lynchburg, Va. to track down info on that plantation...
