Rebel, There is a lot of unknown facts in Claudine's book. Everyone interested in the Beale Treasure should read it. I got to talk to her only yesterday on the telephone. I had lost her number for a long time. Then yesterday she told me she had changed it. But yes the Brugh Family figures into the Beale Treasure Mystery. The old Brugh Mill and Tavern was in operation before the Revolutionary War. George Radar Brugh was the man that Thomas J. Beale entrusted with the letter to deliver to Mr. Robert Morris in Lynchburg, Virginia, to be delivered June, 1832. The old Brugh Mill was moved to Mill Mountain in Roanoke, Virginia on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Claudine sure has insight into parts of the Beale Treasure that most of us are still only wondering about. I will talk to her more in the next few weeks. Good to talk to you again Rebel.

;D I agree; have read her book, once. Will review and check in- to histories of those two counties. I ALSO saw the "old" Blue Ridge Turn-pike... going into Fincastle, Va. (offa Rt. 11); it was a paved "one horse road"... HA! NOT sure about it going up into the BRP; I KNOW it is a fire road for the Feds/Rangers "down" from the BRP... think I'm gonna hike it, in da late Fall. HARVEST TIME! "BUCK" Wright KNEW...

;D R & I on "Fincastle Turnpike": appears to have "surfaced" on today's BRP, down to today's CAMP VIRGINIA JAYCEE Road... down to just in front of Buford's Inn, in today's Montvale, Va. I even saw a map once, of this road... SOMEWHERE! 7/26/09... in Claudine's book, on page 109. Well... ACTUALLY, what I saw was different; black etching on white paper... SAME curved road (TPK), up to "ridgeline", going "right" (or north) into "the woods". Back at the Buford Inn (next to Tavern, which was another smaller building... and ONLY the chimney remains, today). The INN had FOUR rooms... 2 upper rooms, a staircase. 2 lower rooms... SIMILAR to Nichols Tavern in Lynchburg, Va. today (BEEN THERE); I think it was the WESTERN INN "fronting" OLD Forest Road, and is now MADISON STREET.

;D Well, I'm gonna focus on EXTREME western Bedford County, BRP, and the counties of Roanoke, Botetourt, and "points north". I think the James River is "connected", and Claudine's book has some stuff, that others do not know... The "Job Print", Hart Paper(s), and now Claudine's book; GREAT sequence of "clues"! ;D

Don't know why I'm doing this... but, I've started looking into it again.
May even 'drop a line' to Charlie & David Mason... just to see what they are doing these days.

Hi Elwood,
Glad to see you are working on solving this mystery once again. You know you most likely have a solution to the mystery. David and Charlie have a solution also. I myself felt that I had solved the mystery on more than one occasion. As long as it is a mystery and with each solution to the mystery, if no treasure is found; we dig back into the cyphers once again trying to find something we missed. It seems when we go back to the cyphers, we are looking through different eyes as we have grown wiser into the mystery and we know at least one solution that may have been close to solving this mystery. We hope by going to the cyphers again we will find something we missed last time we worked on it. To make this long post short------Welcome back to the Beale Mystery.
My health has recovered to almost better than it was before, I have a problem now with my job, they want me to work six days a week. Don't get me wrong, I can use the extra cash but I would like to have weekends to check out my last two solutions to the Beale Mystery. Maybe by Christmas I will know like you that I need to go back and work some more on the Beale Mystery.
Welcome back elwood. We are doing fine down this way. How are you making out----are you still in eastern WV or down south in Texas?
PS I almost forgot, since this is the thread for, "THE BEALE TREASURE, THE KEY" I thought I would let everyone know that Claudine Fulton Ellis still has some of her first edition books for sale, "The Beale Treasure, THE KEY" I believe the email address and her address for ordering is in the first couple pages of this thread. I talked to her only yesterday on the telephone. I believe she is now 78 years young and still she wants to go into the mountains looking for the Beale Treasure. She has revealed to me where the SPIRIT led her to the burial site but I have not been able to confirm or deny as of today. She told me one time she meet the SPIRIT of TJB in the mountains above Buchannon, Virginia. That is where the Indians took Beale and his two companions to torture and to kill them. I love working on this mystery. I guess most of all I love to meet the different people that are interested in solving the mystery. I hope in a way the treasure is never recovered so we can keep enjoying each others company. Have a great day.

;D I will "echo" beale, and ALSO "say", WB! With ALL the "clues" for B.T. "sites", we MAY be looking for "bits & pieces" of the CSA Treasury, with the BIG stuff, down in Danville... BUT! NOT GONNA GO THERE! I do believe the ORGINAL Beale/Beall story, and I think it was "grafted" onto the LAST DAYS of the "CONFEDERATE WAR"... ie. "IT" has been MOVED, into SEVERAL places, with a BIG cache in L'burg, Va. (PROBABLY, why Gen. Early lived in L'burg, Va. "in his final years"). SO! There is MORE than enough $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for ALL of us. As a TEAM, this "mystery" COULD be solved. Together, Each Achieve MORE! T... E... A... M... OR! TEAMS... Together, Each Achieve More Success! (T... E... A... M... S...) ;D
