I just wondered if anyone knew anything about this: us.imdb.com/title/tt0363145/Any info you have would be appreciated! Addendum: I have invited the director of the above to join us here. If she has the time and the inclination to participate then I hope I can rely upon you all to show her the respect she deserves.

Hey 'Rock'... let's make this thing interesting!!!
If this little lady wants do do a documentary about Beale... and just in case she is reading this... don't you think that she would like to know the truth about the mystery: Thomas Jefferson Beale... NEVER EXISTED... and that his 'characterization' is based on the identity of Confederate General- Turner Ashby That the whole Beale mystery 'story' was 'CREATED' by '3' of the worlds greatest writers: "H"... Mark Twain and Lewis Carroll. Has anybody shown this lady how the cipher #2 message can really be deciphered further than what the pamphlet allows. Has anybody shown her 'why' the story has NOTHING TO DO with Montvale and Bedford county.
IF this lady wants a real explanation of this mystery... all she has to do is contact me. Let me open this lady's eyes to information that "she will simply not believe" but is there for her to see.

Now, now, come on guys, play nice!...
Morgan Faust (The director of said documentary) has kindly emailed in reply stating that she would be happy to visit this forum (time permitting) and perhaps reply to comments regarding her experiences vis a vis her experiences whilst researching the Thomas Beale story.
If you would like to leave some comments/questions then I'm sure she will be happy to respond.
I for one would be very interested to hear her views!

I hardly know where to begin. But thank you all for inviting me to join the discussion. So you know, the film has been made and has received limited release at a few festivals and might be aired next April on Blue Ridge Public access.
The film is more about the search for Beale's treasure than the legend/story itself - although many of the valleys and peaks of the tale are certainly explored. But the "star" of the film are the treasure hunters (and a few skeptics) who were kind enough to allow me into their lives and share their thoughts and experiences.
So that is a place to start I guess. I am always interested in sharing and hearing new interpretations and discoveries regarding Beale - and don't worry, my heart won't be broken by any new revelations proving that Beale never existed and the whole story is a complete hoax, I cover that in the film as well. The film doesn't aim to prove anything beyond the idea that legend of Thomas Beale has its place in the cultural history of the US and that sometimes its important (and more fun) to have a little faith and believe in something that can't be proven with hard facts.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Morgan

Hi Morgan, Thank's for stopping by to interact with our motley crew of Beale enthusiasts. I trust they will offer up some interesting comments and questions but first can I ask a couple of questions of my own? 1. As I live in Scotland am I likely to see the movie in any theatres here (or in the UK at least). 2. When (if ever) will the movie be released on video/dvd for purchase and if so, how would one go about purchasing it? 3. Is there any literature to supplement the movie or indeed a book detailing your experiences? (if yes, details please). Did I say "a couple"?, I meant 3! lol Oh and if I forgot to say it before, Welcome to RNTHF Morgan

The film is slowly making its way to film festivals around the US and hopefully one day it will cross the Atlantic, and perhaps Pacific oceans. But for more immediate gratification, there are VHS (NTSC) copies available for purchase - you can go to my amature website for my contact information: www.faust-films.com and I will happily send you a copy. I kept a pretty good journal through the making of the film, but I am not sure if I am ready to publish that yet! So have any of you been down to Montvale? Morgan

Well if you have spent anytime in the Montvale area, then you are likely to see some friendly faces in the film - and perhaps you will be inspired to go back and check out a few new locations.
It certainly was exciting to be out in the field, so to speak, with a few of the true believers. They know the land so well and have really done their homework, using genealogy charts and old deed records to guide them. Of course intuition always plays a part. What did you find when you were down there? Did you find the trips encouraging?

Hello Morgan, Trips to Montvale are always exciting and pleasant! On one occasion I was fortunate to see the Presidents motorcade drive thru Montvale on the way to the War Memorial dedication. Montvale and the surrounding areas are rich with history..... from explorers to presidents, many have frequented this region over the years. There are plenty of fascinating tales for those who wish to "dig" deeper into the Beale mystery!
/me What did we find in Montvale? I'll leave a weblink to explain that question to you Morgan. Best Wishes! Stevenbealesolved.com/

hello morgan i can prove the treasure did exsist with and by many means of evidence i have not broken the whole cypher(code) so get out your camera , your snake boots , and telephoto lens ,and a non diclosure/non circumvent and if possible a heli copter will save many rugged miles of hiking, there will be no room for doubt of it being proven real you can show some of it with my approval and i say that to keep the local a secret because of the long years of reseach i belive in keeping the dream alive for other hunters i ll show one empty vault one or two of the markers and the location of another vault and all this with proof before you waste your time but the last time i showed one vault to some body they brougt big brother in and he ripped the top off of that vault they got about 75 bars i always thought that that was morriss share (plow) in case we never make an agreement the pamplet and the D.O.I. are two of the many sources to find major clues but unless your aware of local place names its location remains hunted i cant take it with me so mabey it will be put to rest if some one verifies it exsistance is or was TOMm
