I'm just curious how many others are land navigating with a GPS using the UTM UPS grid system? I discovered a guy selling grid tools at Maptools.com. His prices are cheap! I found trying to pin point my location on a 1:24,000 scale topo map was difficult with the Lat/Lon grid. With the UTM UPS grid, I can plot well within 100 meters of the location (100 meters on a 1:24,000 scale map is about a 1/4" sq.

I don't know much about them, other than i know they have improved so much in the lat 4 years I bet you could find one to tell you where your left hand is. I have a friend who is sailing from Seattle to Mexico in a few months and he is going to have two on board. Smart smart smart I think. Can you imagine trying to use a sextant, compass, or charts to tell where you are, even on land, I would hate to be lost. Well, I only got a little bit off topic, but hey! ....who cares. I don't think it will bother too many of the viewers, and I hope they respond if it does. !!!
