rebel,
Thomas Jefferson used "artichokes" as the "KEY WORD" for Lewis & Clark not antipodes. Antipodes was used in the article you gave for the "KEY WORD?" Sorry.

Yo! ;D beale, I know you mentioned "artichoke" as the K.W., and it even said it in the FIRST "addy" above; reading it FURTHER, indicates that ANTIPOLES was the K.W., and how it was used. ANTIPOLES was also indicated as the K.W. in the SECOND "addy", above, plus MANY books/articles, etc. I have researched. Please give me a web-site to review as to "artichoke" being the K.W. THANKS!

rebel,
Go to your first link on post number 6 above, go down to the third paragraph, third line.
I have always known that the "KEY WORD" between Thomas Jefferson, Lewis and Clark was "artichokes" If you will read over some of post under tjb from way back you should find where I said it was "artichokes" It is no big deal you are just using an example that the author of the article was using, I didn't want other posters out there to believe that this was the "KEY WORD" to their cypher code that is the only reason I posted hopeing you would recognize the mistake. Thanks.

Yo! ;D Thanks beale, I "see" what you are saying... guess SOMEONE, not I, is gonna have to go to Alderman Library in Charlottesville, to see the "real thing"; it is misleading, I agree, AND! I am ONLY passing on info from THOSE sources... so the "complaint" MUST be directed their way... "pock" on 'em ALL. ANYWAY... it is a "lesson" to be learned from ALL researching the "Net"... errors CAN be "compounded"... STILL, if you can "up-date" us from your sources (NOT by tjb), it would be GREAT!!! ANTIPOLES is ALL over the "net"... just google JEFFERSON'S CIPHER FOR MERIWETHER LEWIS...

Good post Rebel but most of us have already read about every code that Libraries have to offer plus David Kahn's book which covers most of them. We have been there and done most of it already over the years.
