Rebel,
To find the location of the cemetery where William "BUCK" Wright is buried go to switchboard.com look up Oak Wood Cemetery or Oak Street, Charlottesville. This will give you the map to get to the cemetery. Good Luck. Get pictures and a rough map of the burial site if you can find or document one, Thanks. Albert
Oh and by the way. About all CSA officers and government men that had anything to do with the burial of CSA Treasure are buried in a cemetery either called Oak Wood or Oak Grove. Go to St. Louis, you will find Micajah Clark and Walter Philbrook buried in the same cemetery-----Micajah Clark from Tennessee and Walter Philbrook from Louisiana or Conneticutt born in one lived at the other. Micajah Clark even had a house with a huge, huge safe in it. Jefferson Davis visited his home after the war.
One other thing rebel, be sure to check with the caretakers or office--------they usually keep maps of where everyone is buried. Get a map.

Here is info on "Bear" Tolley (born not far from here... ;D LGA!); DOB - BIG ISLAND, 1827; DOD - 10/24/1902, funeral at Buchanan Baptist Church; buried in Fairview Cementery in Buchanan, Va. He had a KENTUCKY rifle that was his "fave piece", which he used to hunt bears; hence, the "name". "Buck" Wright hunted MALE deers, in those hills; hence, the name. HA! "Bear's" cabin was near Teat Gap, in Bedford County; is THAT near where "Buck" lived? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Bear traded his favorite rifle for a Sharpe's or at least another brand that shot five times----------he killed five bears without reloading --------- had them waiting beside the railroad tracks for a train to pick him and his cargo up.

DANG! TIRED!! ;D Incomplete success... gotta go back with time for ONLY this "project". Went to Ch'ville; Oakwood is owned by Ch'ville, and had to go to City Hall & find WHICH City Department is "in charge"... HA! PARK & REC... HA! In ANOTHER building downtown; go there and receptionist is very helpful and VERY busy, multi-tasking TWO phones, "seeing" SEVERAL "visitors" (& I), at the same time... HA! Looking up OAKWOOD... WILLIAM T. WRIGHT, buried 12/13/1911 in OLD Section of Oakwood - BLOCK 002, SECTION 7; she stated that I would have to wait for someone to "take me there". I told her that I would try to find it myself, since I already KNEW where OAKWOOD was. Went there... COULDN'T find it; OLD Oakwood had very few "headstones" (ONLY about 25...); the REST of the cementery looked just like a "open field". HA! Will go there in August (about mid-August); MAYBE, go to Alderman Library & research OLD, original T.J. Papers... visit OLD UVA (been there already), and MONTICELLO. ;D

I have a few ideas I would like to run by ya'll. First of all there are several people claiming deciphering the Beale Codes. Several have made outright publication of their findings. I have a few questions about those findings. 1. All 31 members should have been informed as to where the treasure was cancelled. Therefore all would have had to be killed and none of thier relatives was told by either of the 31 where the treasure was buried. I find it hard that 11 men could keep a secret of so large a treasure without telling anyone. I say 11 men because that is all that is reported to have come back east--------the others stayed out west mining more gold. So accordingly all 31 must have been killed when the other 31 returned west on their second journey? 2. Beale says he buried the treasure in an excavation or vault six feet below the surface of the ground. This would rule caves or caverns but not mines, shafts or a dug by hand hole. So why so many claiming they found the vault in a cave or cavern and the treasure had been recovered. THE TREASURE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN A CAVE OR CAVERN. These are natural crevices and not excavated nor is it a vault. So, all deciphered codes saying they found the vault empty is UNFOUNDED. 3. Why go four miles from Bufford's? Did one of the 11 own property near by? Without the names of the 31 this can not be found, but since I have deciphered Code Paper Number Three, the cipher code that has the names of all Beale's Associates and their addresses. So evidently the treasure should be cancelled on property belonging to one of the 11 men that came east. So to find this property we need to research the names and landowners of all properties within four miles of Bufford's and find out how many passed away before 1832, then reduce those down by Wills and Deeds. That is what I have been doing for 18 years since I deciphered Code Paper Number One and Code Paper Number Three. I have also deciphered the two small pieces of paper that were in the iron box that contained the sheets of coded messages. If anyone wants the answers to these three questions I have raised above or any questions about the Beale Treasure, such as Thomas J. Beale's genealogy, where he was born and raised, his graduating from a military academy in Pennsylvania, Beale's occupation up until the Party of 31 went west and where the Beale Treasure was cancelled and is still there, or the demise of Beale and his men, you will need to READ, "LOST DIARY OF THOMAS J. BEALL" which can be purchased at Peter Viemeister's in Bedford City, Virginia or from my website at www.hunteroflosttreasures.com Thanks
