Well...This is my back 5 acres. Rock formations and alot of what looks like Quartz rocks just littered on the ground EVERYWHERE! Some almost look smoky. Now I understand that to know what your colecting you have to have a general understanding of the geology of the area. now in my previous post I had explained that I am just a novice. but i'm learning Thanks for all the great info from you exp. By looking at the pictures of the rock formations in the area you are in, there should be an uphevel of sort. There for what I am saying is there should be a fault line or fisser in the area somewhere. Go to where the biggest stone formations are and look around for a crack or fault line or depression. Myself, I would look closely and if possible, I would sink a shaft 50 to 100 feet deep. I believe there is a vein of gold in silver somewhere in the area. If there is a cave, go look inside that would be a plus for you, you could then see if there were a vein of gold or silver. Good luck. Albert

Thank you Albert......I'm headin out their in the morning. I hav'nt seen a 'cave' of ant kind .. it's pretty flat. but there is a HUGE rock formation that pops up pretty close. Thanks again and 'll let ya know what I find. PEACE

Finding gold or silver is a bit of a stretch and wishful thinking. Quartz with iron is not an indicator of any such occurence. However, chalcedony, agate, jasper, and common opal are known to be in your general area, so do your research and hit the mountain washes!
