Who decoded the second cipher? Was it Morriss or Ward.

The "chain of custody" of the Papers/Beale Ciphers (sheets of NUMBERS), with letters/notes were: Robert Morriss, opened TJB box in 1845; after looking at the codes for YEARS, gave 'em to Bro. B. Ward, who deciphered BC #2, using the DOI. MORE on this later. Robert Morriss did not decipher BC # 2. Gotta go back to get REST OF THE STORY.

I believe that Ward took the credit of deciphering #2. Being a publisher and knowing that dead men tell no tails there was no one to dispute it. Ward did not follow the exact text because in cipher # 2 he used the word "Thousand" instead of "Ten Hundred". Knowing that he could not solve the ciphers he had published it to make some kind of profit for his efforts. I am sure that Robert Morriss was counting on this. Morriss knew the "Key" because he was the one to hide the treasure. Why would he have given the papers to a publisher (probably not a poor one) the legacy to a great treasure. He was counting on Ward not being able to solve the ciphers and even more that Ward would see the value of the paper and want to profit even without the treasure in hand. Hey, if he gave it to one person nothing for his efforts but sold to anyone who was interested (CHA-CHING!) compensation. I think that Morriss was looking to clear his soul for missdeeds from his past.(To Do Good With)

;D OK; Robert Morriss opened the TJB box in 1845; told ppl about the box & B.T. in 1862. What we NEED to do is... RESEARCH "evidence" of Robert MORRISS "mercantile business" in EARLY L'burg, Va. history, as a purchaser & shipper of tobacco; becoming VERY wealthy, THEN... losing it all shortly thereafter; I have found NOTHING to date. I HAVE found out about the FIRST brick building on OLD main street in OLD L'burg, and it WAS the FRANKLIN HOTEL, NOT erected by Robert Morriss. Does ANYONE have the state of Maryland census @ 1778 for MORRISS family "listings"? Does ANYONE have marriages listings for Loudon County, Va. for 1803? Does ANYONE have MITCHELL family census in Loudon County prior to 1803? I have found NOTHING! HELP!

;D t 1822, I did... looks good; since I wanna go to Maryland Eastern Shore... WILL check it out. I know about THAT Robert Morris... USUALLY signed his name as ROB MORRIS; and is too early for the "Beale story"... ANYWAY, THANKS for the "clue". OUR Robert MORRISS, died in 1863, and his wife, Sarah... died in 1865. She was known as AUNTIE SARAH, and was being taken care of... by J. B. Ward (aka James Beverly Ward), of the "Job Print". THAT is what I have found by researching the various copies of the "Job Print". It was written in 1885... SO!

Hello Gents
AS Far as morris /or ward in my opinion Roberts Morris Real name was David Lewis ,he was he was wanted in 13 colonies as a hi way man he was the most wanted criminal at the time he lived in Bedford county PA AND the only other man i can think of with a name as Beverly that couid use cypher was Thomas Jefferson son BEVERLY... Beverly is a town in WVA by the way cypher and deposit are names of towns In PA Robert Morris moved to Maryland with his books and wife The signer was exonerated for loosing a Wagon Train Of Silver and Plate how the heck dose a wagon train which consisted of at least 3 wagons of treasure of the uNITED States Treasury get lost , I don't know that but i know this that he main part of the Beale treasure is not in TODAYS Virginia and i can show that by using documents of that era .there is also apoem called ole Rob Morris by Robert Burns OK gents remember the statement AS YOU MAY JUDGE and Robert morris ESQUIRE which is and illegal term to use in the united states for a lawyer or an attorney to use with their title because of the nobility clause in our laws well any way there was a judge1819 in PA with the initials TBJ false or idol punctilio ROBERT MORRIS WAS FROM PA AND SIGNED THE DOI and was a joint land owner with GEO Washington in PA IN THAT SAME AREA AS THE JUDGE LIVED. in PA AS FAR AS ward Such AS J Intersects at *B* with *J* and in that ward or district should be a blank??? Ward was also Friends Of the signers WITH THE INFO I HAVE I THINK I HAVE A SOLID THEORY THAT NUMBER TWO WAS NEVER broken and was part of the papers David Lewis aka morris gave to Wa rd....(RD is rural Delivery ... BJ is the crossroads maybe burns journal dunno but i do klnow what the main key is but it is only a part of many parts there could be More than expected to this treasure . i have often T was a null And J. B was JEROME BONAPARTE now he had a real treasure so far the men i have noted except one ward had treasures plural. most of this info can be found in the national archives and the Eastern treasures of 1980s hey what about this treasure since we dont positively know whom Beale was or when Andrew Jackson ordered all the gold and silver removed from the banks OK ! then where did he put it for storing and i never could find info saying that he ordered it returned or put back and i have a copy of every known document that he wrote 1832 first bank charter the last place i traced him to was Wheeling West Va.he was there before retiring

TOMm, interesting theory but there was one othere person that had amensed a great treasure at the time. A person that would not have released the information until he no longer needed it, say old age or dieing. I have another theory and very plausable. I need to speek to someone because I think the reason why people have not found the treasure is because they are following the wrong path. Send me a email, I'll bet you will be amazed at what I know. I am not from that area so I can not get it, but I am looking for a partner.
