How do you approach a perspective land owner and request permission to look on their land without tipping you hand and having them deny you access and they look for themselves. I am to the point to where I need to physically look for this and I do not want to lose what I have worked for. Someone had told me that I should start a corporation or LLC to protect myself and what I know but that is a output of cash that I do not have. Any help would be appreciated.......

LOL.........Short of getting a B and E charge against you I would sugggest gaining their confidence which does take time.....I don't have to gain access into a dwelling but if someone were to see a car with Michigan plates parked along their property I am sure that it would raise some questions. Talking to a land owner is not the problem it is telling them why have have traveled so far just to take a walk on their property. Ithought about contacting the owner but how do you even begin to tell them of your quest? I mean when I talk to people up hear I get that look as though I had just dropped 50 points on the I.Q. level. If I didn't believe in this treasure and someone asked me if they could look on my property I would think they were crazy.....they are going to get hurt.......and they are going to sue me..... answer is no!!

treasure1822,
I have been there a number of times. It will take a long time to get on any properties in and around the Montvale area. The reason being the landowners have already had others search their properties and came up with nothing but an empty hole or holes. The problem with most of these landowners is previous treasure hunters, they have dug their holes and ran off without filling back in the holes. That was the problems I ran into most of the time was the previous holes dug. These landowners have cattle, some have sheep or other livestock, treasure hunters at night have torn down their fences, left their holes and cattle has fallen in or broken their legs and the landowner has to shoot the his cattle-------that is the reasons they won't hesitate to shoot a trespassing treasure hunter.
Permission can be obtained according to Peter Viemeister the easiest way is to get a local attorney post a $1,000 retainer for damages and they can get you permission. I have been turned down by just about half of the landowners I have asked therefore you have a 50/50 chance of getting permission.
As far as the LLC, it will only protect you from the landowner sueing you, they sue your LLC and if you keep no assets then the landowner gets nothing. But, generally it is best not to use an LLC or any sort of contract, these landowners are weary of signing any contracts--------usually you have to take a verbal agreement and a handshake and go with that. I have offered the $1,000 retainer and a contract with one particular landowner----never got a reply. I have taken contracts saying they will not be sued that if hurt it is my own fault. My contract was not signed but the landowner did make me sign a paper of saying that if I got hurt he was not responsible and he did verbally agree to giving me one-half of whatever I find. Also if you tell the landowner you are searching for the Beale Treasure he will not think you crazy many have been there before you. He will however not want to go public if the treasure is found. They do not want the government to come in and take the treasure. This is a little for you to think on.
Another best bet is to find a treasure hunter in the Bedford or surrounding area sign a partnership and confidentiality contract with him and let him work with the landowner for you. Be sure to get a partner that can be trusted.

Thanks Beale, I can't say that I trust anyone......Because I don't know anyone. My nephew is now a partnerner with me and he is ready to go. It's funny that you said that people don't want to make it public. If they don't then the treasure is at gold and silver value. If you make it public you add the historical value which I would assume that the value would double.
