;D Heard about this years ago; even PV (RIP) alluded to this in his book, THE BEALE TREASURE: NEW HISTORY OF A MYSTERY; "One story bandied about is that Robert E. Lee (US Army, during the War with Mexico) was involved and that the gold & silver had indeed come from the Southwest, but it had been looted from the Mexican government treasury during the American victory over Mexico in 1848." LAWD GAWD A'MIGHTY! "(Lee) contacted Beale, (?!?) who did the actual looting, and then moved it with some slaves... then, Beale made up the Indians mines story." 1848? WHICH Beale? DUNNO...

WHICH Beale, INDEED! Well, in 1826, U. S. Secretary of War under Prez Franklin Pierce, Jefferson Davis "found the U.S. Army needed to improve transportation in the southwestern U. S." THUS, the U.S. Army Camel Corp. & Lt. Edward Fitzgerald BEALE; MUST have been utilized by Capt. Robert E. Lee (US Army) after Mexico fell. US Camel corps - wiki AND! (Beale) "achieved national fame in 1848 in carrying to the EAST, the FIRST gold sample from California, contributing to the GOLD RUSH." Edward Fitzgerald Beale - wiki Even built the Beale Wagon Trail WEST; the BEALE ROCK is out there, too!

1848... THE pivotal year; War with Mexico over and then the GOLD RUSH from California? HA! Following this "train of thought"... was CSA Treasury added to the LOST treasury of Mexico? Was the LOST treasury of Mexico utilized to "fund" the beginning of REBEL succession, in S.C.?

Was the LOST treasury of Mexico utilized to "fund" the beginning of REBEL succession, in S.C.? All of the above is true. Jesse and Frank James brought back over three million in Maximilian Gold from Mexico. It was cancelled in KGC Depositories in Texas and eventually removed to Arkansas. There are tons of gold and silver of the KGC out there to find. I know of over three hundred depositories with at least a couple hundred in the SW areas and over another one hundred or more east of the Mississippi River.

Cowan is a KGC word. When the sentinels would go out checking their depository they would act like they were checking on their cows. Usually the word Cowan means a depository is around somewhere. You are correct about FJ and JJ though JJ was not actually killed in 1884 and yes FJ and family were in Lynchburg during the winter of 83.
