Robert Morriss could not have been Robert Morriss I, Robert Morriss II or Robert Morriss III. He must have been one of Robert Morriss I son's son or one of his grandchildren in other words. Robert Morriss III would have been too old to be him and he could not have been his father as he was too young in 1778.
He could be another Robert Morriss altogether. On payment for his wife's burial clothes and coffin they have Robert Morrifs (McCarty) could he have been an adopted son by the name of Robert McCarty?

;D MAYBE... Robert MORRISS could have just changed his name, rather than being a Robert Morris IV (I would), whatever; COULD have been adopted, with an "altered" name of a famous person, yes. MY thought is that he was son of Mayor Robert Morris (III)... DUNNO. OR... Robert MORRISS was a "Rake" (born out of wed-lock)... as a leaf from a family tree. "Rake" also mean... DASHING, ENTERTAINING, etc.

As I said in my previous post Robert Morriss III would have been to young to have been the father of Robert Morriss of Lynchburg, Virginia. He was born in 1769 and RM of Lynchburg was born in 1778 making him only 8 or 9 years old.
No our RM of Lynchburg would have to have been a first cousin of the signer of the DOI or maybe no kin at all. But since both were from Maryland there should be a blood line somewhere.

;D To Make R & I easier... the Md. "connection" is Robert MORRIS I, Robert MORRIS II, & Robert MORRIS III; I will have to review the BD on those MORRIS "connections", to see what BOD dates, I can find. For Now, I an ignoring the BEALE PAPERS... and Robert MORRISS. YOU started it ALL with the focus on Robert MORRIS "from Md." in the OP ("Post" #1, "Thread started"); YOU "said"... "To prove that this is the correct Sarah Mitchell that married Robert MORRIS of Lynchburg, Virginia in Campbell County." WHAZZZ? From Marriage Records of Campbell County? The ORIGINAL Robert MORRIS (I)... 1711-1750; looking for RM II & RM III. Your R & I appeared to be focused on Sarah Mitchell, and that is OK.

;D Robert MORRISS could have been a "rake" son of Robert MORRIS II (1/20/1734-5/08/1806) [Financier]) OR... Gouverneur MORRIS (1/31/1752-11/06/1816) of NY/PA & friend of RM II. Gouverneur MORRIS was known to have had MANY affairs, with several possible "rake" children (Robert MORRISS?).

I did some idle thinking the past couple of days and this may lead some en-genius individual in the right direction to find the "KEY" to the two remaining unsolved cypher codes.
Now we know according to the Job Print Pamphlet that Cypher Code #2 was decyphered by using the Declaration of Independence of 1776 at least the original DOI. I have used the Adams-Onis Treaty of 1819 and by using it by taking the third letter of each word instead of the first letter and beginning with the third paragraph----------I have been able to get a few complete words out of Code Paper #3 and the last one half of Code Paper #1.
If someone such as I mentioned in my opening sentence were to dwell upon this and experiment with this some good may come of it.
Another thought also if #2 paper is a document dated 1776 and #3 is a document dated 1819 then according to this sequence Paper # 1 should be a document before 1776-------could be some constitutional congress agreements that lead to the DOI? But I just thought this was interesting and I would share it.
My partner years ago Joseph Duran and I did a DVD Video on the Adams-Onis Treaty if I find my copy I may go back and look at that. Anyway Good Luck.

Adams-Onis Treaty of 1819 can be found on line but I prefer the original. I ordered an original copy from the Library of Virginia. Sometimes words are spelled differently such as the old high relief "F" for the first of a double "S" but you may be able to use the online version?
I only remember making one video but if there was another it was after "JOE" and I parted ways?
I might add to find the document for Code Paper #1 you will most likely have to start with the second paragraph and use the second letter of each word instead of the first with the DOI, and the third with the Adams-Onis Treaty.

As I said Rebel, I only made one DVD if there are two then the second was made after I parted ways. JD never wanted his picture took or anyone to know his of his name. He had other partners after I left the group and they could have put out another DVD using my name, telephone number and email address?
I do know JD got a copyright on a book. Don't know the title but there should be records of it at the Library of Congress. It most likely had something to do with Chair Rock Ridge.

;D OK, on video, I remember you & Joe circling a tree in the woods; had to be a 3rd person videoing it all, unless you had camera on a tripod... don't remember camera "movements", tho. After watching it, it was THEN, I called you. We met in Montvale... LOL!

His son was doing the videotaping. We found a wonderful place in the woods whether the treasure is there or not-----I don't know but it does have a signature of a large treasure.
I can not reveal the location because they may still be working on site-------don't know.
WDBJ ran a small portion of the story about the location we found but I don't have a copy. Joe avoided the camera=======his daughter and I did the talking about the site.
That sure seems like ancient history.
There was something really weird happened before our interview with WDBJ Channel 7.Joe had his papers lying on the trunk lid of my car. There was only one small cloud in the distant sky, the day was calm and sunshine. Out of nowhere a huge gust of wind blew the papers off the trunk lid all over the rest area and over a hundred feet down the mountainside. It took us about 15 minutes to gather up the papers========there was no more wind only calm so quite it was scary. Joe said it was the dead Indians sign that were with TJB telling us to leave the treasure alone. I don't really know just thought I would mention it. I sure can remember that was a very unusual day.
