You may or may not have come across this sign carved into rock, or carved on a tree. It's called a "turkey track" do to it's design (research for yourself on the web for "turkey tracks" or, "treasure sign turkey tracks", to locate a photo of what I am referring to).
Normally, the turkey track is found carved in stone, a rock outcropping, for example. When these tracks are found in stone, they are telling you that "the next sign you find will be on a tree" (loose interpretation). You see, this sign is NOT a turkey foot or turkey track, it is the symbol of a tree, with a main trunk and two "branches" growing out from the trunk.
This symbol has another, even more important definition to it, and that definition, that meaning is this: the tree (turkey track) that you are going to find will "site you in on the next major sign along your treasure trail". The main trunk of the tree (the center line on this symbol), and the two "side" branches (one branch on each side of the main trunk, which is why people call it a turkey track) is actually telling you that you will be given a "gun sight" to sight down (from the tree) to the next major step of your treasure trail.
In most cases, the tree you are lead to will be an old, old tree (unless it died and the sentinel replaced the old one with a new one, or even replaced the tree with a whole new set of signs that no longer even use that particular tree's location as a step in the treasure trail), but anyway, on this tree you will find carved signs that confirm you have the correct tree......the duck symbol, or duck head, is common to find on these tree's.
Once you have figured out how to "gun sight" from the tree, make a mental note of the direction, the path, and follow it closely, and look for a large white, partially buried rock, that will indicate that you have reached the next step in the treasure trail. This rock may only be a few hundred yards from the tree, or it may be several hundreds yards away.
Once this white rock is located, then there will be another rock map found, partially buried, within a few yards, maybe even a few feet of this white rock, and most likely near another tree.
Now, this second rock map is vital to your success. It will ALWAYS be a "topographical map", meaning that the shape(s) of and on this rock will be telling you EXACTLY what the land/terrain will be like when you get into the area of the treasure room/mine, etc. In fact, these rock maps are so precise that it's easier, when you find these rocks, to just go home and get out an actual topographical map and study the design of the rock map and compare this shape to the topographical map, looking for similarities.
My latest rock map, in the shape of an owl (which made me overlook the topographical aspects due the meaning of the owl) actually lead me to land that was shaped just like the owl rock map. On each side of the land is a water source, a river on one side, and a creek on the other. At one end of the land it is wide, but at the other end of the land, where the river and the creek come together, it is "pinched" and becomes narrower as the creek and river come together, making the perfect owl symbol. A topographical would have made this search a lot easier, had I known then what I know now.
These two water sources also make the perfect set-up for the treasure room, as water traps are very, very popular when setting up the death traps. No doubt this land was chosen mainly for the that reason, the other reason being that the Railroad used to run close by. The Railroads were used extensively in the hauling of treasure.
On this particular rock map that I have (the owl shaped one), there is also a complete duck carved in it. And this duck is situated at an angle on the rock map. The "front" part of the body of this duck shows the location to the covered opening on the creek side of the land, while the "tail" of the duck shows the location to the covered opening on the river side of the property. And located within this ducks body, is the sign that shows where the pozo is located. When I say "the" pozo, I mean the air opening that the secret society used/uses to this day, the one they uncover in order to get into the treasure room. This tunnel, from creek to river, is over 600 feet long, so there are several pozo's that were constructed when the tunnel was made (and then converted into death traps). However, only one pozo allows for you to "drop in" next to the actual treasure accumulation room located within this tunnel.
The importance of rock maps can not be over-stated. And in closing, I want to say just one more thing about turkey tracks. If you happen to find one on a tree, then you are being told that "this tree will "gun-sight" you to your next step in the treasure trail". Again, once leaving these gun-sight trees, watch for rocks, the partially buried kind. One rather large white rock (to let you know that you need to change direction), and then the all-important rock map that will be found nearby. Once you find this rock map, be sure to use a compass and mark "NORTH" on the rock with a magic marker. If you just remove a rock map, ANY ROCK MAP, without marking north on it first.....you may have compromised a lot of information. But like I said, these maps also represent the place where the treasure is buried, so all is not exactly hopeless.
Hope this info helps.
