Yo! Rebel here: ;D Man!!! Bedford County has SO MUCH "history"... MORE than the D-Day Memorial; time for a "mind-reach" VISION: we need a Dept. of Tourism... early history "settlements"... Indian tribal "land"... SECRET tribal pathways to the Peaks of Otter (3!)... Indian Mound(s)... Colonial Fort(s)... Beale Treasure "sites"... Civil War trails... Civil War "battles"... Civil War "hide-a-ways" for CSA Treaury... mysterious markings/places... on & on... geeze... imitating Tour-guide..."Step right up, folks... for the MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR of Bedford County, Virginia..." HA!

Climbed a mountian down by the river like that several times. A strange place, had a man made stone wall around part of the top of it. I just had a gut feeling there was something of value up there! But only found one civil war bullet, a large flint deposit and an abyss or cave intrance down on one side. And of course a beautiful view down on the river and valley below. Ha! I'm still not convinced i didn't miss something or maybe i should have used a deep seeking detector. The hole i saw looked unsafe to enter so i didn't.

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Just got back from the Shenandoah Valley, doing the "family thing"... (Re-Union...); Yep, Beale; have been up to Sharp Top twice... wife & I hikes the narrow way, all the way up; later we rode the bus up the broad way, then you have to hike up to the very top... you have an hour to meditate on the "view"... I want to hike up Flat Top, which has a huge "over-hang" boulder... KyDave, you MIGHT have quit too soon, when you found the civil war stuff... it reminded me of my ex-father-in-law, who found SIX musket barrels with bayonets attached to 'em... he was SO excited by that... he forgot to look around for more... My understanding of how the REBS/KGC did their "caches" was that the BIG stuff was hidden/buried VERY WELL, with some minor stuff thrown on top OR nearby to throw you off the scent of the "good stuff"... sorta like when Beale found the coins near where he found the HOLE... Later... (sunny out...).

Yo! Rebel here: Beale, that "turn-down"... is a BUMMER! Anyway, U spoke of the devil... here is the bad news... this world is the little guy's (devil); in the New Testament, he is cited as the Prince of this world... also we know he is King of hell (one dimension lower than here and now; U know what the GOOD NEWS is. If U can indicate to the state AND feds, that the land has historical important, due to the Beale Mystery, and the info of various "assassinations" Post-Revolutionary/signing of the Declaration of Independence (the Brits DID threaten to "hang 'em all"...), it may be possible to "Emminent Domain" it... dunno.

That's a "crock of ----" Beale! Especially about the marshalls! Sounds like the crap Mel Fisher had to deal with, but he managed to win somehow. University of Kentucky goes on digs like that all the time i hear and are glad to get them. Guess we got more money in our banks than Va. ha! with the "powerball and everything! But we are tresspassing if we step off the sidewalks here too and somebody wants to chew you out or have you arrested. Whats this world coming too? A friend of mine once said people like us were born a hundred years too late.

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Whoa, Beale... U have had a BUM deal around here, I didn't know about... ANYWAY... Wife & I visited T. Jefferson's Retreat at Popular Forest (wonder if he ever shot at anyone???) and also did some research on the Retreat, in the Bedford Library (Heritage Book...); it stated that a "mysterious" house (remains of...) was found "on-site" at the Retreat, and they DID NOT know who lived there... it was thought to be a two-story house, better than the "slaves homes", not as well made as the Retreat... WHAT IF: Thomas J. (Jefferson) Beale WAS T. J.'s son by Sally Hemming, living in that two-story house, and he was just visiting poppa T.J. ... WHAT IF... the Beale Treasure is really at Popular Forest... and that is REALLY what the "Archies" are looking for???!!! LAWD GAWD A'MIGHTY!!!

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Thanks Beale, for the info.; I had forgot that Jefferson DID have to stay somewhere; just thought he stayed on the "little mountain" at his advanced age, while the Retreat was being built; can't wait to see yer TOME... sounds like a real doozie of a book that will blow the "lid" off of the "cover-up" of early U.S. History of 1812 era + 30 years or so...

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Beale, sounds good to get together, BEFORE the snow flies... ALSO... Smith Mountain Lake has LOTS of retirees with $$$$; think U could put together a Talk/"chat" (meeting in the Moneta Library Community Room...); to talk about treasure hunting... the "sites" U know about (not TOO much info...)... and of course, the Beale Treasure Mystery??? Plan it for NEXT summer, when WEALTHY pp are at the "Lake"... May - August, 2007 (or there-a-bout...); maybe U will get some "investors" from there; U could advertise it in the Smith Mountain Lake paper... ans several others of local interest... just think about it...
