Yo! Rebel here: ;D Beale, Harry Wright & family were so wealthy, they didn't have to build an "old folks'"... they just fixed up the old Piedmont Institute near KFC/Pizza Hut in Bedford... I can go to the Bedford museum to get family info... PV even wrote about Harry Wright and family... the Bedford library has maps of OLD VIRGINIA, which went into West Virginia of today; U gotta see that, sometimes... New Jerusalem is closed to tourists until 2007; they are "renovating" or something... PROBABLY Beale Treasure hunting... sorry I couldn't show U the REST of the good stuff... drill holes... "carvings" on boulder... cave in HUGE boulder... twin mounds with trees growing out of em...ALL along Goose Creek SOUTH AND an old road; old log cabin near-by, probably for the Sentitel/guard of the OLDEN days... LGA! there is SO much more... this is FUN!!! ;D

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Found PV's (P. Viemeister) book that mentioned HARRY Wright & family... THE BEALE TREASURE: NEW HISTORY OF A MYSTERY... pg. 184 -185... his father's name was George... etc. etc. OUR KIN by Parker is also alluded to re. Harry Wright & family... will ALSO look at that on Tuesday...get this... p. 184, " And Harry himself was known as a PHILANTHROPIST." Some one who loved to give away $$$$! ;D On p. 185, "Harry MIGHT have found the Beale Treasure and then took off for MEXICO, to live off its bounty." Was "Buck" (AKA W.T. Wright) involved? Was he the loner, living in the mountains of Upper Goose Creek Valley "on the line"... a OUTLAW/FORMER OUTLAW from the Cole-Younger gang, who changed HIS name? 'Tis possible... Jesse James changed HIS name @ 72 times! LATER...

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Very good day at Bedford Library... from MONTVALE: FROM INDIAN TRAILS TO SKYWAYS by Olliemaye Freeman Hamm, pg. 58 - 59: MAN OF MYSTERY - W. T. "Buck" Wright... "Residents of upper Goose Creek Valley told of a character who lived in a cabin near the top of the Blue Ridge on the Bedford County side.... He was held in awe because he was thought to have been a member of the Jesse James gang.... It is reported that he had told someone that his name was really Younger (the Younger brothers were members of the James gang).... He wore a Masonic emblem and said that he had been a Freemason." (Note: his doctor told pp that ("Buck")'s body contained scars of knife wounds... ALSO... he was a Rebel from Tennessee, during the C.W.). LAWD GAWD A'MIGHTY! From ANOTHER book: OUR KIN by M. Ackerly & L.E. J. Parker, pg. 639 - 641: Harry Wright was the son of George & Mary Elizabeth Pannill Wright; born in 8/25/1877; married Edna Josephine McCauley on 9/4/1906... they had NO children; SO! it was Harry's brothers and sisters (EIGHT of 'em!), who travelled "here & there... etc.. etc.. Harry is stated to have been the founder and president of Consolidated Rolling Mills amd Foundries Company of Mexico City; he was a Mason... Shriner...Elk... honorary member of the Knights of Columbus... ALL this on PAGE 639...

Yo! Me again... ;D I wanna dig into this W.T. "Buck" Wright guy... was he REALLY a Younger from the James gang? Was W.T. even his REAL name? Any kin to George Wright? Did the $$$$ come from Harry's mom's family, so that Harry and his "sibs" could "play" ALL around the world? Was B.T. really a "outlaw"/KGC/ Rebel "super-cache"... deposited by the James gang in 1885; constantly checked on by "Buck"/Younger... finally removed by Harry Wright in the 1930's and moved to MEXICO? Was Thomas J. Beale ANOTHER name for Jesse James? ;D Were the other members of Beale's company the Cole-Younger gang? GEEZE!!!

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Raining out... drinking "High Test" coffee... doing MORE "puter" research; "Buck" Wright was 92 years old when he died (not sure when...); couldn't been a YOUNGER... Cole Younger died on Feb, 18, 1915... brother Bob Younger died Sept. 16, 1889... brother James Younger killed himself on Oct. 19, 1902; MAYBE "Buck" actually said he was a member of the Cole Younger gang... OR... was a DALTON, and member of the Dalton Gang, who did their LAST robbery in 1885! Hmmm, interesting, isn't it... there are LOTS of DALTON families in this area...

Yo! Rebel here: ;D I mailed the library stuff on "Buck" and another one on Harry Wright to you this morning; glad U liked the "link"... MORE to come... LGA!!! ANYWAY... I have heard MANY names for the place near Popular Forest... below Forest, Va. As you know, Marshall Plantation was mentioned, and there IS a PLANTATION ROAD there... I have heard it called JOHNSON FARM... and get this... MCINTOSH PLANTATION! VERY similar to one of the names, you got out of B.T. Code # 3... McIntash.... HA! I told you about TURKEY FOOT ROAD... TURKEY TOE ROAD... all of 'em outside of Lynchburg, Va.; near Rt. 460 WEST... and TMBERLAKE ROAD; Lynchburg, Va. was a "hot-bed" of Rebel (CSA) activities... MANY "homes used for hospitals... dead Rebels buried in HUGE cementery in Lynchburg AND one in Bedford, Va. Heard also that CSA Treasury was buried with/instead of dead Rebels in Lynchburg... Bedford... up in the hills northern Bedford County... BUT! WHO IS GONNA DIG UP "THE DEAD"? LGA!!!

Yo! Rebel here: ;DYesh, Beale... loved the movie... need those kinda guys around these days... HA! ALSO reminded me of a saying about "Living in the COUNTRY" (Rural areas)... you got the GOOD, BAD, AND UGLY... GOOD, when you smell the honey-suckle... BAD, when you can smell the horse manure... UGLY, when you smell a dead animal along the road (and elsewhere...); HA! HA! HA! I'm sure we ALL can come up with MORE "real doozies" of examples...

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Yep, Beale... I read somewhere that the Sphagetti Westerns (made in Italy with C. Eastwood...) were thinly disguised KGC/Reb. Spies/Beale Treasure stories... do we need to start a NEW thread for Movie Critics? HA!

Yo! Rebel here: ;D ("ARMED & LOADED" with "HIGH-TEST"...); Well, "Buck" W. T. Wright is NOT William Wright... William Wright IS Harry Wright's uncle; "Buck" lived all alone with his donkey, and dog (Tippy) in upper Goose Creek Valley... probably near the old Wright-owned land with Read Creek, AND Hunting Creek...he was a mountainman from Tennessee Rebel forces, who joined CSA Virginia Cav. under T.T. Munford (also from Bedford County...); he later got ill, daughter made him move in with her (and Hubby) in Lowry, Va. between Liberty (Bedford City) & Goode, Va. "beale" said "Buck" died in 1929 or thereabout. what is interesting about Lowry, Va. is that before the C.W., John Brown (rude noise here...) lived in a cave near Lowry, Va. and was inciting "slaves" to leave and stir up trouble... wouldn't THAT cave be a NICE place to hide some of the CSA Treasury? There were ALSO Feldspar Mines... as near Montvale, Va... HA! WHAT IS IT ABOUT THESE FELDSPAR MINES Great hide-a-ways for Beale Treasure/CSA Treasury? HA! (sunny out...)

Yo! Rebel here: ;D Well, there is NO direct connection between "Buck" Wright and Harry Wright... I have seen where Frank Dalton (brother of James Dalton) went EAST towards Virginia after his "robbing days" were over... COULD have been "Buck"... have a "pic" of "Buck", now... will compare with "pic" of Frank Dalton (of Dalton Gang... connected with Jesse James, whose mother was a Dalton from Georgia...); IF "Buck" was from Tennessee... close enough to Georgia, to REALLY be a DALTON... as my wife said... her gggrandfather was a DALTON... who KILLED a man... said the Dalton Clan was MEAN !!!

Yo! Rebel here: ;D R & D continues... on page 136 of BEDFORD VILLAGES: LOST & FOUND #2, there is article about "BAR" Tolley (AKA "BEAR" Tolley... AKA Archibald Tolley, DOB 1827... DOD 1902); beale, will send a copy to you. "Bar/Bear" Tolley got land (10 acres) from Miss Bertha Pechin, located "on top of the mountain between Buchanan and the Peaks of Otter. There he built a log cabin, had a garden plot, a horse, cow, a few hogs, and some chickens ( and he had LOTS of Bear hunting dogs... ...). Killed 225 - 250 bears... was he ALSO "Buck" Wright?
