Turn the discrimination knob down to zero and the sensitivity as high as you can go without interference and if it's like my 1265 pull the knob out for extra depth. It should get down there really deep on a junk pile also you might want to use headphones. Keep the coil on the ground while swinging not up in the air hope this helps. Maybe be a little trouble but you could bury some junk out in the garden and do a test.

Probably about 8 inches on a coin depending on the type of mineralized soil. But it should go deeper in sand. You have one of the better older detectors. I have a 1265 Fisher that i keep just to use in the "pay to enter" Club and competetion hunts.

Tommy Veals AKA "The Indian" told me one time when i was down in Tennessee that he had found the house that TJB had lived in and he was planning on going back sometime and checking the "well" for some reason? He said he had torn out a wall and it was full of a type of rubber bands, strange! Don't know if he is still alive or not, last i heard he was drilling for oil! Probably doing his Dowsing thing since he was so good at it!

Had a great time at Treasure Feat as usual. Friends there from all over the U S . Got to here what everybody's been finding since last year, nuggets in Arizona, relics from Va. and lots of jewelry and coins on the beaches, great bunch of people as most treasure hunters are!

Beale, Send me a PM with your mailing address and i'll be happy to send you the magazine for past favors no charge ha! Think you will enjoy it. Jefferson found gold along the Rappahannock River, wife died and he put it on the back burner so to speak.

By the way this all sounds very familiar to the 38 States pulling out of the United States and Obama Care and needing all those signatures by Dec. 10th! ;D
