Hi Dacuz, My advice is that you drop by www.mindat.org and check out the Messageboard there. In the messageboard you'll find an Identity Help section. The beauty of this site is not only that it is frequented by some of the most knowledgeable amateurs but also by several experts and professionals. One major strength of the Identity help section is the ability to post pictures alongside your query. I hope you try the site out, not only for your current query but for the wealth of information and the fantastic members gallery. Perhaps we'll meet in the chatroom there, I'm a semi-regular visitor myself. Best of luck and KOR (Keep on Rocking) Rockster aka GOR in Mindat

If you have an interest in treasure hunting but don't know where to begin or have a question relating to treasure hunting in some form then leave a message here. Hopefully someone will answer your questions or direct you a website more suited to your interest. You won't know unless you try.

Thanks for the link Burl, I've checked the site out (and saved it to faves since it is in my field of interest) but I feel your entry might have been better placed in the Links section. However, I'll be keeping an eye on the site and I wish you the best of luck!

I checked the Mindat database and found no listing for gold ( www.mindat.org/loc-14607.html) but that's not to say it's not there... just that nobody has reported any finds to Mindat. I'd suggest that the best place to ask the question would be in the Mindat Forum. If anyone can help you, they can.

I doubt that any regular visitors to this particular forum will recognise the name, but you can trust me when I say that the mineral collecting/mineralogy community will never be the same since Mr Alan Plante has left us. My thoughts are with his family and close friends at this time. His memory will live on through his many, many interactions online via Mindat.org and other websites I'm sure.

Hi Mark, You might like to try this link> www.mindat.org/loc-22087.htmlIt'll give you an idea of the kinds of rocks found in your location and the surrounding areas. I'd also recommend you check out the Message Board on that site, particularly the Identity Help section, for more specific assistance. The natives are extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to help. If you can't find anyone there to help you I'll be very surprised! Best of luck, Rockhound

Hi Michele, I don't personally have the information you require but I know a site that does! www.mindat.orgYou could try searching there (search boxes are at the foot of the main page) for your location but if you can't find anything then I recommend you visit their forum. It's a very friendly place with extremely helpful and knowledgeable regulars. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for there. Good luck, Rockster.

If you are a mineral enthusiast and have anything to say/ask then here is the place to say/ask it! If I can help in any way I will and if I can't then I'm sure I can point you in the right direction or perhaps one of our visitors can help in some way. You won't know until you ask!

Hmmm. I cannot for the life of me work out what colour the extra rose would be. Each colour seems to have a good reason... White: because it would complement a black tie dress code if worn. Red: Why not, it's traditional and classic. Blue: As stated, it's rarer than the others and therefore a more extravagant gift. However I really don't think any of the above are correct. I must be missing something! Gonna be watching this space!!

I guess a thread of this kind (in a forum such as this) should begin with a reference to... "The Treasure of The Sierra Madre". So I guess that's where I'll begin! I don't know about the rest of you but my feelings are that the movie, albeit a classic of the genre, succeeds in spite of and not because of, Mr Humphrey Bogart! Anyway, my favourite scene has to be the one that inspired the "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges." quotation. So, what's your fave movie and why? NB: If you don't have a fave movie, feel free to make one up... the forum could really do with a boost right about now Remember, this thread is in the "General Chit Chat" forum so it doesn't really have to relate to treasure hunting!
